The Mississippi Valley Fair

I absolutely can't wait to go home back to Davenport, Iowa because the Mississippi Valley Fair is there. It is traditional so we have it August of every year. It is so much fun and it hosts 3 other cities out of the Quad Cities. Davenport being one the others being Moline, Illinois, Rock Island, Illinois, and Bettendorf, Iowa. The fair is filled with all kinds of family fun. It stays open all night long and we see literally everybody we know. I haven't seen a lot of these people in so long so this should be interesting

The grand finale

Well I have been in a program this whole summer at Iowa State University. This program is called APEX and the experience I have had is great. We have had a busy summer though I have enjoyed it none the less. Every week we have had events planned and meetings that have helped us get familiar with ISU and the resources it offers. I am sad that I didn't have a summer with my friends back home but this is much better. I have made so many new relationships it's not even funny. This program has prepared me for academic excellence and now I am ready for the summer.

At the Library

Right now I am at the library studyung with a group of students in my economics class. I am really hoping to get a handle on these past couple of chapters because we have a test on Friday. We have taken a total of three tests and Friday will be our fourth. I didn't do so well on the last test but have gotten an A on both of the first tests. Luckily, only the best three tests scores you have from taking the test count towards your grade, so I am hoping to do well on this test. Well, I am going back to study so wish me well.

Getting ready for finals!

Lately, I have been working my butt off trying to get ready for finals here at ISU. This weekend I has to finish all of my Econ homework as well as spice up my brochure for English 150. Also, there is a Psych 131 final project due by Thursday that I started this weekend. Just to be safe for my Econ final I am going to study every night so that I can make sure I understand all of the material to keep my grade up. This summer has been a great one indeed and I'm am so glad to have gotten a chance to experience ISU for a whole summer and get a head start on my college education. Well bring on finals week!

Busy Schedules

Oh man time is really winding down for the summer. I have all of these final projects to do in classes. I have to make sure I manage all of my time so that I won't be  looking stupid on the last day of class. Hopefully I can do well on all of the rest of my assignments in my classes so that I can make sure that I finish the summer strong. I'm getting so excited for the fall to start. In between this summer and the fall school year I will have about a week and a half to go back home and spend time with my family and friends. After all of that it's back to Ames, IA. Overall, I've had a great time experiencing ISU for the summer, however, I feel the fall will bring a totally different experience in itself.

Amazing find

I've been wondering if I could do this for awhile now. I am writing my blog on my iPod touch using the local wifi network in my residence hall. If anyone has a iPod I would highly encourage you to use it to blog. This is so helpful and convenient because its very portable and fast. You don't have to wait for your computer to boot up or anything and don't have to shut it down afterwards. This is a great find for me but actually I feel kind of dumb since it took me so long to figure out that I can do this.

Harry Potter 7 pt.2

So I finally got to see Harry Potter 7 pt 2 on Saturday. It was awesome to see the grand finale on the silver screen. I loved the way they brought the movie to a close. The special effects brought a lot of the movie to life as they always do. There were a couple nitpicky things in the movie like he final fight that differed from the book. One word to summarize the movie....awesome.
